Suppressor follow up
Not mentioned too often but in addition to noise reduction my suppressor is a fantastic muzzle break. I noticed it immediately on my 308 but this weekend I finally fired my 300 Weatherby and difference is dramatic. This rifle is a custom about 8.5 lbs all out. The stock isn't a great fit so it is pretty rude to shoot with my 200 gr loads @ 2900 fps.

With my can screwed on, it kicks a tad more than a stout 150 gr 270 Winchester and less than a 200 gr 30-06. The can is an AAC 762-SDN-6 with a standard adapter.

Yes, I see it as well.

In addition to the added mass dampening recoil, containing the gases reduces muzzle flip.

I'm thinking of using my .300 Blackout AR-15 and Elite Iron Bravo 1 suppressor on pronghorns and prairie dogs in September.

I should be able to see the bullet strikes. Big Grin

I have a threaded 308 barrel for my Mauser MO3. I'll be using that this year for hunting!

Hi, JD. It's done and while I think they did a good job, making a gun with that size bore quiet was a challenge. It's hearing-safe but I think I may have to change the caliber one day to get what I set out to do. Maybe something like 6BR up to 30BR. I'm stuck with the .473 bolt face so 223 based rounds are out. The good news is I think I can live with the 45 caliber baffle stack and just duplicate the barrel profile.

Are you still in Metairie or did you find your little piece of heaven?
