"DEN 43" ?
Anyone know what it stands for? I found the cartridge on our ranch... it appears to be a 7x57 (can't exactly tell because it's crushed). Letters/No's appear like this on the case head:
DEN
43
Thanks,

Savage99I still have some 30/06 military brass and maybe loaded too marked Den 43. It's very durable brass.
That's what it might be. I bet there is quite a bit of it in France and Germany too in the ground.

IconoclastBrad, the captain nailed it. The Denver Arsenal operated for a few years in the Second World War and produced a large amount of .30-06 ammo. I believe they also made some .50 BMG, but can't say for sure without pulling out some references. They were the principle maker of the standard incendiary round used by our forces.
