Can you identify this cartridge?
I found this at the range & can't identify.

The bullet is .312" 154gr FMJ
It was loaded with 48gr of an unknown flake powder
The case is 2.242" long
7.7x58 Arisaka maybe?

Thanks

Can't read the headstamp.

From the case length of 2.242,it may be a short necked 7.7 Jap made from an 8x57 case or it may be a wildcat.

Can you give more dimensions, head dia.,shoulder dia.,length to shoulder, neck dia.,length of neck, and shoulder angle?

Is it just 8mm Mauser? I have never seen it headstamped like that...
I guess you learn something new every day.

8mm mauser (7.92 x 57 to be exact...) And it does look like some of the Turk ammo I've shot recently.

I've never seen a 7.92x57 cartridge loaded with a .312 diameter bullet.
