cgbachI have seen some in collections and always wondered about safety. Are not most 20mm shells loaded with he, incendiary, or depleted uranium bullets? Not something I would want rolling off the desk. Under the law they might qualify as 'dangerous device'? Dummy rounds are quite common.

muzzai guess it will depend on which caliber , which loading , where you live , etc

TailgunnerIn the US, as long as the HE payload is under (IIRC) 1/2oz, it's legal to have live. Over that the HE component must be removed. Incendiary , tracer, AP, DU are not a problem.
TP (Target Practice, blue projectile in the 20x102) rounds are also common

Grizzly Adams20 mm HE shells are notoriously unsafe, don't think I'd want one kicking around.
