I recently examined an empty case that read as follows 577 Nitro Express 3" BCCC. What does the BCCC stand for?

PiviJust checked out the list of custom headstamps made by Bertram , but I haven't found the "B CCC" one . According to me , this sounds like a cartridge collector club abbreviation ( custom - made by Bertram or another factory)

If its "old" and made by BELL it would have a B.E.L.L h/s for Brass Extrusion Laboratories Limited.
I doubt its a Bertram product - his headstamps are distinctive in style , usually have a kangaroo or two , and usually look like they were struck with ten times more force than was needed to mark the case.
Bound to be someone who does know , though ...
