Although I really like this site, I must confess that I'm not disappointed by a lack of coverage concerning any "end of day's scenario". Times are hard enough without adding more worries. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas + a good + healthy New Year.

Randy, I think most people who are aware of the current difficulties have been prepared and are prepared very well. I'm honestly stocked for two years here should the worst come to be. I will always be stocked in such a way too.

Besides the fact that it's a good feeling knowing all would be well, whether a major power outage or some collapse of society it's kind of weird to not 'need' anything. I think covid has taught us a lot and how to deal with less, such as supply shortages by either doing your own or simply doing without and keeping your money safe until prices and supply (hopefully) return to normal.

This kind of situation certainly hurts local businesses like yours and that is tragic.

Have a Merry Christmas! I just pulled a cherry pie outta the oven for a dinner to attend at a neighbors' house.

Merry Christmas to you both and others. We are fixed here for a good while but we have been so for several years. My Christmas wish is for anyone holding office longer than 5 years getting booted out with all socialist wantabees. I have traveled and taught in too many countries with such and I had great hopes we were not going there.

Ann, I agree. I've been living this way since the early 70s. At 1st it was an adventure, then became a way of life. Funny you should mention the loss of my business; I file every quarter with the state comptroller for state taxes + this 4th quarter is unique. In 40 years of business this is the 1st time that I made NOTHING. I can't afford the metal thus the customer can't afford the finished product. Oh well just beating a dead horse. Sorry for the bitchin; it's Christmas eve + I'm grateful for what I do have. Kudos on your cherry pie. I know I sent you my recipe for pecan pie Kahlua but did I sent you the recipes for the buttermilk pies or the peaches + cream pies? The latter can be messy when eating it but it's worth it!

Oh, yes, you sent them. I have made the pecan and kahlua pie already. Still need to do the buttermilk pie though. The next thing I will make, probably next month, will be your banana bread recipe.

I'm sorry to hear Brandon's economy has hurt your business so badly this quarter. Govt seems to like chaos.

Thanks Ann.If I did'nt have my social security I would be in one helluva fix. In order to avoid any S.S. penalties, I went back over the past 3 quarters to see my total business income; It was $7550.00 for the year. THank GOD I own my land, (until taxes are due that is). As to the chaos comment, I couldn't agree more. But it does remind me of an interview with Salvador Dali sometime back in the 60s after he had designed the main post office in Mexico City + was asked about the reasoning of his design, to which he replied, "Dali Love Confusion!"

Ain't that the truth?! This administration is even worse than Carter's + that's really saying something. Under Carter, had we not been gardening on our land we would have starved to death because there was no work; all we had was a little presidential jingle about how we were going to Whip Inflation Now! Heaven help us if in the next election that the socialist libs take a 2nd term.

I think the inflation situation is going to get worse. Reminds me of my college days. I had to take loans if I wanted to go to school. These were only through banks at the time and of course it was a time of high inflation so my student loans were over 9% interest.

It took me ten years to pay them off but I did. I also worked the entire time I was in school. One of the few who did (had to). Tough times makes stronger people. I hope that is the case for those trying to make it these days. I have my doubts though, people are not raising their offspring to be hard workers anymore. That's been the trend for awhile now. All the handouts and inflation going to crash like a derailed freight train.

And we are kidding ourselves as to how vicious and cunning these people will be.

ALASKA is a "HARD COUNTRY for OLDMEN". (But if you live it wide'ass open, balls'to the wall, the pedal floored, full throttle, it is a delightful place, to finally just sit-back and savor those memories while sipping Tequila).

I don't think they would be able to survive long even if robbing their neighbors in their fancy subdivisions.
