profihunt.com? experiences?
I have been in touch with this operation from Moscow, who seem to be quite good and have a long list of past clients availiable for reference on their website.
They seem to be taking a lot of big trophies of all the sheep and goat species and appear to be very professional.

Does anyone have any experience dealing with this agency?

Thankyou.

EXPRESS,

I hunted with them in 2006 for Kamchatka brown bear. I give them a big thumbs up in all areas. Great communication before the hunt and everything as described while in Russia. Not anything like some of the horror stories I have heard about other Russian hunts. I liked the facts that they are Russians operating in Russia. Any problems that arose were quickly taken care of. The owner of Profi-Hunt is the head of the Russian Outfitters/Game association, or at least he was. I don't know what sheep you are after, but I can tell you I saw full curl Kamchatka Snow Sheep almost every day. Hope this helps.

Mike

I would not be doing my job if I did not advise you guys that SAFARI OUTFITTERS has been arranging hunts in Russia longer than any other.

We have an office in Moscow and ALL of hunts in Russia or any of the former Soviet republics are fully escorted from your arrival by either Sergei or Sasha from that office. We opened Kamchatka to sport hunting and are directly responsible for opening Tajikistan for Marco Polo as well.

Let me know if I can help or if you want some comparison options. Melnikov does a good job, but there are areas that we are stronger and areas that he is stronger...depends on the hunt you are looking for.

Best,

Clark Jeffs

Express,

I'll give you a call this week. I have about 18 days left in the Poeples republic of Sicily.

Think Antlelope in 2009! I'll get you the applications so we can draw together.

I have known Clark for 10 years, and I'll talk to you about it in private, but Safari Outfitters is the way to go!

cheers,

Seth

Which hunt are you considering? I have been researching this myself and find it very interesting.

If I was hunting that part of the world, and I have done my share of those hunts. I would conside a well established Outfitter based in the USA.

I would not think twice about booking through Safari Outfitters.

Regards
Aziz

Aziz is giving some good advice and it's well worth listening to. For what it's worth, a couple of big booking agents are being investigated by USFWS for their Asian bookings but Safari Outfitters and Clark Jeffs are not one of them.

what are they being investigated for?

violations of the Lacey Act- in this case, taking game outside the US in violation of local game laws, then attempting to import it into the US. the particular case in question involved moose shot from a helicopter in Russia on a hunt booked thru a US booking agent( the Hunting Consortium). do a search on this website for further details( key word- Dan Duncan).

Click the link below for some details on hunting ibex in Mongolia.

Mongolian Ibex Hunting

Safari Outfitters works exclusively with our sister company, Mongol Safari. We have been arranging hunts to Mongolia since 1958 and we know it very well.

Please let me know if I can assist in any way.

For those of you who may be headed to Reno for SCI, please stop by our booths (#2015/2017/2019) and say hi!

Yours for good hunting,

I am in the process of booking an Ibex Hunt with
Profi-Hunt for October 08. I have checked refrences and all their refrences give them 5 star rating. I was very impressed with the animals they are taking and the fact that they escort you from the airport throughout the hunt until you leave Kyrgyzstan. The price is very good also.

We've been working with Profi Hunt for some years now and have experienced great results for our clients. We always overcommunicate in all hunts we put together to make sure all aspects of the expeditions are taken care of before, during and after the hunt and the communication with Profi Hunt has always been great.

Hawkeye47, we sent three clients to Kyrgy last October to hunt ibex and the hunt was extraordinary with the smallest ibex being 42" and the largest a 52" monster. I am sure you'll do well if you book with them. Let me know if I can provide you with further details.
