Those have some serious horns. Most impressive. I would love to do that hunt but politics being what they are, I would hate to be there at the wrong time.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

Brett,

Yes Renaud has hunted and can arrange a hunt for all the species. That said there have been some changes with the local licensing issuing authorities as reported in the latest Hunting Report, and it sounds like the right hand does not know what the left is doing! Renaud was all set to go to Iran this month but not sure if that is happening now!

Out of all the goat and sheep species to hunt a bezoar is at the top of my list followed by a marco polo and then a tur.I just found them quiet pricey in Turkey especially if you shoot a big one.As far as i know they are more resonable in Iran and Armenia.Having said that i would still rather hunt them in Turkey.Just have to wait a bit longer and work harder

I also think the bezoar Ibex is the most Beautiful of all the mountain animals!

Interesting animal. Zoologist originally called thes animals the "Wild Goat" and it is said to be the ancestor of all goats. The Sind ibex of Pakistan is the eastern limit while Turkey might be the western limit. I am not sure if the Nubian ibex is a related subspecies or an entirely differnt species.

A Nubian Ibex is a true Ibex like the Walia, Mid-Asian, Gobi, Alpine and Hymalayan.

The Bezoar/Persian Ibex/Pasang is a wildgoat like the Sind "ibex", and the four races of Spanish "ibex" Sierra Nevada, Ronda, Beceite, and Gredos.

Of course then you have Tur, Easter and Western. One looks like a beardless Aoudad and one looks like a very short horned Alpine Ibex.

And the "snake horned" Markhor. Of which there are a few species in Pakistan, Tajikistan and maybe China.

Markhor are the most expensive single trophy in the world. Though hunts for african lions and really top trophy elephants usually cost more because of the daily rate and 21 day requirements.

Wow, what a wonderful hunt. Love the terrain!
