The snake bite statistics for India would give you the creeps too, with 50,000 fatalities and 3-4 million bites recorded annually. The large Indian population probably make the percentages low but still the actual numbers of bites and deaths don't make for comfortable reading.

True and with medical facilities being what they are its not funny. Nor is anti venom available at most hospitals.
