Brochure is from 1961, hunting is on pages 13 & 14. If I am reading it correctly, you can shoot all the tigers and leopards you want for free.

Probably throw in a Viet Cong as well, if you're lucky. Wink

The book, I Killed for a Living by Etienne Oggeri is a nice read for a perspective on hunting in Vietnam. Etienne was born and raised in Vietnam. Became a professional hunter and ran the outfitting company Sladang Safari. Book talks about hunting elephant, tigers and gaur among other animals. Short book. Etienne was deported from Vietnam apparently because he was seeing and later married Madame Nhu's sister or sister-in-law. Lives in North Carolina I think (assuming he is still living).

You should read Charles Askins book of hunting in Southeast Asia in 1958. An amazing paradise of hunting and the trophy quality and number of species is staggering. What a shame!

Charles Askins' book is an amazing one. I first read it as a school boy in the mid 60s - hard cover with all the amazing photos.

Read it again in the 70s after I turned 20.

Hard to find the hard cover edition at a reasonable price now.

I know in 66-68 time frame, while I was playing in the bush the Ole man, managed to hunt with an old FFL Officer and took Barking deer, Buffalo and a Guar, had photos for years. lost them to the local government, when coming home.

Just started reading Askins' book. To be able to do a combination tiger and gaur hunt . . . what a dream.
