KenscoSome of her "facts" don't ring true.
I agree with everything she describes after 2003. Project Tiger was totally corrupt, because the Indians are corrupt, sometimes by necessity. My experience is that the Indians have very little respect for their wildlife or their heritage. Those that are on the gravy train want to remain there. Those that aren't, scramble to survive day by day. A tiger means money to them and little else.
One of the better stories reported was that game wardens in some of the tiger sanctuaries, knowing that no tigers existed any longer made wooden pug marks that could be used to lay down a "track". When a dignitary, a superior, or a VIP guest was present, tiger tracks would be created for their excitement, and "proof" that Operation Tiger was a success thus ensuring that the wardens and others in on the scam got to keep their jobs.

boarkillerYou hit it on the nail
The only way tigers will survive in future if they have value as sought after trophies by hunters, because we are the only ones with long term interest to keep alive.
Nobody else, period. End of story
