NakihunterRIP - Mark Davidar
http://www.environmentalgraffi...#2asTbzf3ZR2R4Qym.01Mark passed away a few weeks ago following a diabetic coma (since may 2013).
I knew Mark form around 1964 when we were kids. Our dads were hunting buddies from much earlier - hunting tigers, leopards & elephants in South India in the early 1950.
By the late 60's they had put down their guns and turned full time to conservation & photography.
Mark's dad - ERC (Reggie) Davidar was a pioneering legend in studies about the Nilgiri Tahr & The Indian Wild Dog (Dhole).
The property in the article - Chital Walk is haven for wildlife. I have sat in that verandah and watched the tusker Roberto Carlos at less than 10 feet!
If you are lucky you can see tiger & leopard come for a drink to the stream!
The trust is being managed by family & friends.
I think it costs US$45 per night to stay there - very basic facilities - steel frame cot with cotton mattress & electric fan. Basic toilet. Lots of amazing wildlife in a unique environment.
