Mongolian ibex
Headed over October 1st. Any particulars to the area I should be aware of? Have done Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan.

Thanks!

The guides I talked too while in Kyrg. (Spaniard & Turk) talked about how bad the food was. Id take a stash of cliff bars. 1 for each day. Or make sure they have plenty of noodles.
Your mileage may vary.

I have walked in the foot prints of the elephant, listened to lion roar and met the buffalo on his turf. I shall never be the same.

I hunted the Altai ibex a couple of years ago and it was fantastic. I found the Mongolian people to be very hard working, eager to please, and friendly. The food was really good and the Ger (Yurt) I stayed in was plush. We hunted out of the Hovd area and the game was plentiful. I would go back in a second. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions. I can also send you pictures.

Wow! Best of luck on your great adventure!

I was there for sheep and a couple ibex but it's been so long ago that my experiences would hardly be relevant today (1986).

It was a wonderful and magical place (and time) and my take on the locals is the same as those voiced about.

best, Zeke

Was there in 1985 in the Gobi for sheep and ibex. The guides saved the ibex blood. Said it cured broken bones. Interesting trip. Have fun.
