RM007Tundra Swan
My cousin and I drew Tundra Swan tags in North Carolina. We picked the 3rd week of January
to hunt. Weather really screwed us up. We expected 50 degree weather and got snow and 9 degrees and 30 mphwinds. it got tough with white decoys in snow and everyone in camo. Guides were great at calling in birds but they were flaring away at 70 yrds. Second day using white blankets we were successful.

TommyIISweet. I went after swan on Jan 24. Like you, I was hit with weather that was much colder than expected. We didn't have any snow but it was 18 degrees with a 20 mph wind.
I was after a bird for eating so I passed on the mature birds and went for one with grey on him. Here he is:

NavalukI too enjoy swan hunting. I bought the call and instruction tape along with 6 decoys and have done 2 successful DIY trips in Montana. It's a fun and not physically difficult hunt just like all waterfowl.

This was my first tundra swan and I wanted a mature bird to mount life size.
