help me hunt turkeys
I know next to nothing about how to hunt them. I have a 12ga, all the camo clothing and land to hunt them on, but just what does it take to lure one in for a fall hunt? Hens and toms are legal here in the fall. What call do I need?
TIA

Best advice I can give you is to get with someone who does know how to turkey hunt and learn from them... if this isn't an option then try this...

Purchase: http://www.wingsupply.com/shop/Scripts/prodViewSKU.asp?SKU=RTC2

and

http://www.wingsupply.com/shop/Scripts/prodViewSKU.asp?SKU=RTC4

-----------

After playing these over and over and over, you'll know how to sound and when to call...

If you have any direct questions post them up and I'll do my best to help you out...

Don't worry about all the fancy gear, all you need is a torch and a short handled slasher or machete. Go after them in the evening when theyre sitting in rows on fence. Just walk up to them and give them a good whack on the neck, you should be able to get dozens of them like this.

Hunting turkeys in the fall is totally different than spring hunting. In the fall try to find a flock of turkeys and somehow "bust" the flock up.You want them to scatter in different directions. Then find a good hide, sit down and start yelping. You want to be the first "turkey" the other birds hear. They will want to get back together.Toms are very difficult to call in in the fall.It mainly a hen or young jake hunt. But man...are those young birds tasty.

This year in my area there are lots of turkeys .I already got one with my F150 ! Roll EyesUse enough gun ! Find the feeding areas , stay very still. If you learn to call - the biggest mistake hunters make is to call too loud and too often !
