Gads man, those friggin' things are vectors for leprosy!

Ring neck doves are pigeons, and they are the dominant variety in much of Florida now. They eat just like mourning doves but are about twice the size. Like other immigrants from south of the border, they are here illegally; shoot on sight. The birds, not the other. Wouldn't want to get some liberals shorts all in a knot would we?

Sunday had a mixed bag (just not enough) of two mournings, two ringnecks, and one whitewing. This just north of Bryan-College Station (South Central TX).

Yep, we've got quite a number in our area here, west of Houston. The white-wing numbers a quite high here, too.
