You can feel it in the air
It was 39F at sunrise this morning; crisp, clear and feeling like October. This weather sure gets the blood going.

I know Seasons have opened up in the west, but here in New England we have a couple more weeks until Grouse and Woodcock season opens.

October 1, will find me and my Setters in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.

Have a great and safe season all!

I spent three years on the faculty at West Point, and fall in upstate New York and the surrounding states is just about as beautiful as one could want.

Atticus 38*f when I left my house this morning in Vermont leaves are starting to change and the ferns are begging to lay down. Even my dogs know what time of the year it is....
Perhaps we should meet some place for lunch this season since it seems we overlap in hunting territories.
If you get the NRA pup American Hunter check out the OCT issue pg94 Bryce Towsley did and article on my dogs....

I will miss the Northwoods this year. I have fond memories of grouse and woodcock shooting. A classic hunt!

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
- Rudyard Kipling
