I have fixed on my Beretta Silver Pigeon 12/76 one red point ....





A question how much of you they use a red point to go to hunting?

Sights like these are excellent for ground hunting, for example Turkey hunting.

But if the goal is to shoot flying objects with a shotgun then probably not a good idea.

A shotgun is supposed to be shot with both eyes open. The only way to do this is by getting the gun "fitted" to you properly. Once the fit is right it will put the pattern where you point it.

But if this sight builds your confidence with shooting then that is a different case.

Only one question.....why would one scope an O/U?????

I agree with collector and Norton. In fact, in trap shooting some even file off the front sight to avoid the temptation to "aim" the gun or maybe just to make their position on this clear.

A shotgun sight is there for those limited situations when you DO have to aim it. Like said above, in turkey hunting for instance where the idea is to aim at the bird's head. Another for instance is finishing ducks before they can swim off. Or for use with rifled slugs on big game. I can see it would be useful there, although a short, extra barrel meant just for that with adjustable rear and fixed front ramp rifle sights are what I have.

So the answer is, very few. But it does look like a nice mounting job was done.

Looks cool, but concur with others as far as questioning its utility. OP, what do you plan to hunt with your setup?

That's a beautiful shotgun and they handle very nicely, but why would you do that to it??? It's removable, so it's not as bad as all the potatoes stuck onto Model 12s years ago, but it still is butt ugly and will hurt the bird shooting.

I think that if it works for you and it focuses your sight picture use it.

I tried one of those Burris speed-beads on a Beneli shotgun and it worked perfectly for me.
