Any recommendations for Maine Grouse / Woodcock Guide
Hi all

Looking to book one, maybe two (second with a friend who I would invite from Europe who I owe a ton too...), 3 day sessions in the woods of Maine after Grouse & Woodcock

There are a ton of guides out there, but if anyone could recommend someone they have hunted with, and save me the issues of playing roulette... would be greatly appreciated!

Ask for recent references (people who hunted with them in Fall of 2011).

Good luck and please post some pics after your hunt Smiler

triple thumbs-up for Libby's Camps.

Been going there for many years but it might be too late to book for early grouse season this year. I booked our 2012 hunt last year.

Worth a try, tho. This is a genuine North Woods camp that's been in the Libby family for over a century and attracts a civilized clientele.

Coastal Maine Outfitters is a reputable outfitter. Don't overlook Michagan or Wisconsin for bird destinations also.
