Basic 28 Gauge "Bought a 20ga Fausti Stephano O/U"
Here is the deal: about 15 years ago I gave my girlfriend a gift of a Remington 1100 28 gauge skeet special with a skeet #2 choke on its 25 inch barrel. The gun was from the custom shop. Well, I didn’t marry her, but I did dump her and with her went the little gun....I have yet to see an 1100 as nice as this one with its glossy stock and hand cut checkering.

I love the SxS, and I like the pumps like the Browning BPS and the Remington 870, but I refuse to pay a lot for a gun that will go dragging through the brush with me after California and mountain quail, blue and ruffed grouse, and the little brush bunny. Also, if it isn’t on a true 28 gauge sized receiver I do not want it. I hate double guns in 28 gauge built on 20 gauge receivers.

Well what can you offer as help gentlemen? I know, I screwed up, but she was a nice gal and I hope she still shoots it on doves and pheasants like she used to![

Check out the Huglu, imported by CZ of Kansas. They offer both O/U and SxS models in 28ga built on true 28ga frames. Both can be had for less than $1000. Great value for the money.

333,

Remington makes the 870 Wingmaster in 28-gauge, might be your best bet. I think the MSRP is around $850, so you should be able to find them for around $700, maybe? Should be cheaper than the CZs, although they are sweet little guns. If I wasn't putting some money into rifles and red heads I would probably be buying one soon! jumping

They are about $1200 at the Cabella's in Az. I looked at them, they are beautiful, but the stock didn't fit me. Each time I shouldered the gun, I could see my eye was past the center of the gun. The stock was too thin for my physique. I was disappointed. I really think that they are beautiful and they feel well balanced.

I will shoot it this weekend, but it shoulders well and I am a bit taller than average at 6'8". I do sight a little off sometimes when shouldering fast. I am on top of the bead, but it will work with rising targets.
