Charlie64Glorious 12th yesterday ! Grouse season !
.
12th August grouse opens in the UK.
Hearing a lot of sad stories about no shooting and cancelled days due to a bad winter followed by a very hot and dry summer!
Hope nobody from AR affected!
Anyone shooting / shot grouse in UK ?

Zephyr https://www.telegraph.co.uk/ne...lled-across-britain/I have a Grouse shoot planned on the Yorkshire Moor end of September, my first. The UK does not shoot on Sunday so today will tell. I am told that prospects look good in the eastern area where I will be shooting so selfishly I am feeling a bit relieved. From the article above it could be a while before the Grouse recover.
Lots of folks garner income from these shoots so it could be a tough fall.

CumbrianHi Charlie,
I always take a few days close to home in the pennines, all the August days have been cancelled the grouse have fared badly in the heatwave and subsequent drought, small undersized broods I am told. There is talk of some smaller days later on in September and October.
I normally have two days of 220 brace (880 birds) back to back with friends on the first and second days of the season as a bit of a tradition but not this year sadly I am hoping for a few days later on in the season.
