packrattusnongratus7MM BR Loads
I could post this in reloading but this is the specific forum devoted to hand-rifles. I wondered if anyone would share their top performing deer load for the 7mmBR. I have this XP100 that begs to be hunted on whitetail. Any loads for the lighter X bullets? The Hornady single shot projectile? I have some time on my hands to load here. Thanks Packy

bfrshooterI sold my XP100 a long time ago but still have my MOA with a 10" barrel. This gun loves from 154 to 175 gr bullets. A hot load of 322 with the 175 gr has put 5 shots in 3/8" at 100 yd's. It is going 1898 fps. I would NOT shoot any heavy bullet at deer from this caliber.
I wanted to get the Hornady 120 gr SSP to shoot but could not get more then shotgun patterns at 50 yd's. I had some Varget so I got hold of Hodgden and they told me it would not work. I tried it anyway and 32.5 gr's gives me 2175 fps along with very small 50 yd groups. It was the only powder that gave me a group.
It is also working great in my Witchita 7R pistol with 34.5 gr's and the same bullet.

joe25/06My favorite load is unfortunately using components no longer available. Mine likes the 120 Nosler Solid Base (not B-Tip) with a load of RL12. Another good load in mine is the Sierra single shot pistol bullet with a max load of H335. Guess this doesn't help you much unless you can find some "outdated bullets/powder. Good luck.

packrattusnongratusI maintain a supply of Varget as it works with a lot of stuff. I appreciate the help as I'm not sure which bullet to try. I'm thinking I have either the Hornady 120 gr or an X bullet from before the blue meanies. So light bullet it is. Thanks for the ideas. Packy

Bobby TomekThe Nosler 120 grain BT ahead of 32 grains of H335 makes for a superb 300 yard deer dropper.
I've used this load in at least 5 different firearms and suggested it to many others who found it to their liking as well.
And the best part of the load is that is seems to shoot exceedingly well in just about any chamber.

6.5BRHeck, I am just convinced out of my rifle I can drop them at 400 .....why not my 6BR has....rifle.
Bobby, just so happens I ran some 130's with 335 recently, believe speeds better than I4895, again in 21" rifle.

PanchoI like BLC2 pushing a 154 gr Hornady. Works great.

groundhog devastation28.5 grains of ReLoader 7 behind either the 120 grain Sierra ProHunter, the 120 grain Nosler BT or the 120 grain Hornady VMAX has performed admirably in 4 different XP-100's in 7BR for me. Gets 2550-2590fps in the 14.5 inch barrels. And all will kill deer DRT!! I'd probably opt for the Sierra 120 over the rest if it were me looking for a deer bullet in the 7BR. GHD

richjI like 120 grain BT ahead of 32 grains of H335 in a 19" Mini Mark X.
