montycalhounIf memory serves me it is the same as the 600. The XP was made then the 600s becuase you can make a pistol into a rifle but not a rifle into a pistol (or some such legal mumbojumbo).

gruvco2the xp-100 is a slightly shortened and modified 600. the rear tang is shortened and the front action screw is in a different location. otherwise all 600 parts will fit. also, if your going to make a rifle out of a pistol, a 600 rifle stock will work with just alittle grinding and bedding. jim

joe25/06What sort of cost is involved in going from pistol to rifle?

gruvco2well you will need a 600/660 trigger and stock ( a 700 short action stock can be made to work), a rifle barrel ( minimun 16.5"), brownells acraglass gel or other bedding compound, and either a 600 trigger guard and screws/nuts or a 700 adl guard and screws/nuts. I've seen triggers go for $35.00, stocks for $45.00, new barrels for $45.00, acraglass gel for $15.00, guards and screw sets for $15.00. thats $155.00 maybe less if you do some shopping. gunsmith fees of $20.00 and up to headspace the new barrel. so $175.00 for a rifle, if your handy and can grind out the stock and follow the bedding instructions. jim

joe25/06Thanks for the information. Now I just have to decide ; keep as is, sell/trade, or make into a nice compact rifle.
