From posts I've read, Savage ML-10s with blackpowder/substitutes are the world's strongest muzzleloader but not in the top 5 in accuracy UNLESS you switch the black for smokeless powder.

I would not want anything real fancy on my wish-for list for hunting purposes... only a Edward Marshall for hanging on my fireplace wall. It would not bother me one bit to put a few scratches in the first rifle SHOWN RIGHT HERE

You might have read that the Savage MLs were not accurate w/ BP subs but, they are far more accurate than most of the top brand MLs even when used w/ 777.

You can use FFF 777 and shoot up to 150 grains of powder. Try doing that w/ any other ML and you are playing Russian Roulette.

The ML10 II will produce sub-moa groups w/ BP subs and Hdy SST bullet/sabots. I have not been able to experience those groups w/ Knights, CVAs, Rems, Traditions, or T/Cs ( I would consider them the top 5).

The thing about it, you are going to have to play w/ numerous load combos to find any MLs true performance levels. Just as it is w/ any modern rifle.

Most reports that a rifle or Muzzle loader will not shoot accurately is when the shooter only experiments w/ one or two load combos.

I've been to the point of pulling teeth or selling when I finally found the pet load in some firearms. Some take dozens of loads to find that special one, sometimes you get lucky w/ the 1st one you try.

Easy I would buy one of my buddy's John is a former Williamsburg gunsmith and builds the most beatifull flintlocks i have ever seen.Last one i saw for sale on Track of the wolf was well above 5k

An original Rigby .45 caliber sporter.

I would have another Joe Gillispie flintlock built. I took a 54 to SA and took the new # 4 Eland with it. It even has an ivory night sight built in the front post. Its a true work of art.................................JJ

A Rigby double barrel rifle in 60-70 caliber rifled for roundballs. Why? Because it would handle, shoot, and look good, while killing anything. And it would have resale!

I have a Lang double rifle that is almost that good in .635 caliber (18 bore).
