777 Clean up

777 Clean up
The 777 seems to clean up faster than other powders. Less mess. Is there any down side to 777 ?

Pretty much true but there are a lot of variables to this 777 crud ring thing. I have a stainless Omega which I converted to the .25ACP because with 209 primers the crud ring was terrible. The conversion fixes about 80% of the problem. It is still there. I live in Arizona and I think the lack of moisture in the air has something to do with how much crud ring you get. I gave up on 777 once I found Black Mag3. Now there is a really clean powder that has as much punch as 777 with less felt recoil. How can you go wrong with that (other than it is really expensive right now).

t7 is a great powder and i use it exlusivly in my tc omega it very accurate and i can shoot 3-4 shot in a row with out clean up

I am interested in what bullet and primer you are using to accomplish this. Most T/C barrel rifles will not shoot multiple shots of T7 without forming the crud ring on the first shot. My Omega will not shoot a second shot even with the .25ACP conversion breechplug with T7. Just for interest; what is the moisture content of the air where you accomplish multiple shots without a swab between?

it depends on the time of year it can go from extreamly humid to zero in the winter. dryer than a popcorn fart.

its harder to load the following rounds but still doable.

i use the 300 grain sst hornady bullet with 150 or 3 tripple 7 pellets

The only thing I see different from what I have tried is using three pellets. I have shot 100gr. volume measure of loose ffg 777 (I have tried two pellets) with the same bullet you use and the second bullet stops a good inch from the powder and my full weight on the ram rod will not seat it past the crud ring. Maybe it is just my rifle. (stainless .50 fairly early model) came with a totally flat faced breechplug but I have tried all three configurations with some help but not a solution.
