I always used TC products (bore butter and #13), and used hot water with a little dish soap for cleaning up when done for the day.
I shoot a club match once a month, and last year the guy on the station next to me would shoot the whole match without cleaning or swabbing. He was shooting a Hawkin using round ball and FFFg, the same as me. I would have to swab after every five rounds. He had his pillow ticking patches in a baby food jar with Fantastic household cleaner. He shoots matches every week somewhere and is always a top competitor.
Well the other day I decided to try it, I shot thirty rounds and needed no swabbing. I think I'm on to something.
When I cleaned out at the end of the shoot, it was the cleanest I have seen.
