Thoughts from a newbie;
I have a 700ML (.50 cal) which I have used for years. It is, properly loaded, one of the most accurate big critter hunting rifles I own. I still use a nipple and hot #11 caps (gasp) and have used up to three 50gr Pyrodex pellets with no ignition problems whatsoever. With the plastic sleeve in place on the front of the bolt I have carried the thing in a downpour then fired the load which had been in the rifle for days with no hesitation in ignition. I have heard all the stuff about getting rid of a Remington and get a Knight instead but I'll keep mine, thank you!
My most accurate load has been a 130gr equivalent load of Pyrodex pellets with the 250gr Knight/Barnes RedHot bullet at 1995 fps for three shot cloverleafs (right at 3/4 inch) at 100yds. Change that to 150gr for a clocked 2130fps. Hornady or Remington bullets are interchangeable for accuracy or zero with groups being around 2 inches.

I bought a stainless 50 caliber 700 ML when they first came out and have had great performance from it. I use 100 grains of triple 7 powder, a 209 primer, a Hornady high pressure sabot and a 250 grain bullet. This combination has produced .75" 3 shot groups, velocity right around 2000 fps. I took a whitetail doe at a lasered 204 yards with it last fall.

I am very satisified with it!
