Rick,
I like the T/C Encore. The omega is now a triumph, good also. The knight evolution has the best fool of all of theis rifles. Any way you go, they still all shoot the same amount of powder and perform the same. It's just which one feels good and fits you best. If I can help you with bullets, let me know.

Wapiti....T/C is still making the Omega....the Triumph is just another model in their line of muzzleloaders. Personally, I think the Omega is the best value there is for in-line muzzleloaders today.

I too will vote for the omega if money is of concern. i have one and love it. if i had the extra cash i probably would have gone with the encore, just for the flexibility of adding another barrel later on.

wapiti7, how do your bullets compare to the shockwaves? and when i click the link to the cotton cleaning patches, a blank screen comes up.

I Vote for the Knight KRB. Lots of good input in the different muzzle loader/black powder forums.

Sorry guys, I didn't know they still made the omega.
Cooper, I'm not sure what kind of comparison you're looking for. But I can tell you that our bullets performace is guaranteed and that you will be more than satisfied. I'm not trying to be sarcastic or arrogant, I'm just saying. If you would like to call me sometime, I'll be glad to visit with you.

Where will the hunt be? Elk? Check the regulations for the area, see what is allowed/disallowed. If it is an area that requires conicals, I would avoid QLA or similar barrels.

Sportsman's Warehouse supposedly had some fantastic prices on the Knight KRBs. You might call one and have them check inventory to see if any are left at the sale prices.

QLA is when the end of the barrel is over bored to allow for easier loading of sabots. The esteemed UC is correct that it isn't well suited to some conicals but for sabots it's the cat's meow.

Personally, the only reason I see for shooting conicals these days is for sentimental value or in States where sabots aren't permitted. Hornaday has an interesting new jacketed conical out that I've yet to try but it may fill a niche in those States that only allow conicals.

Most conicals perform very poorly at the higher velocities produced by 150 grain loads of powder and most are so heavy that they will beat the crap out of you in the recoil department.
