I need a rifle that will shoot non saboted slugs for Colorado. i took a chance and bought a new Knight Rolling block.

The action is interesting I don't like the double safety but understand the liability issues now days so i can live with it.

The good news is this rifle is shooting 440 gr lead conicals (Knight hydracons with a bore button) into an inch at 50 yards and inside of 3 inches at 100 yards. with iron sights. It appears that this may well be a very good option for Colorado Ml hunters.

My load is 130grs of Goex 2F.

I just bought the same rifle. Mine is stainless with composite stock. I mounted a scope as it is legal where I hunt in Arizona. Have not shot the rifle yet. Very hot here still. What primer were you using and did you have any issues with primer extraction, blowby etc. I also think the double safety is unnecessary but I can learn to live with it. At least the safe hammer thing can be taken off safe quietly. The rifle feels great for me. I like the balance and the stock seems made for me.

Good results with the new toy so far. I'm not sure why Knight has the double safety, doubt it's liability. My new TC Triumph has no safety at all, just cocked and uncocked. You'd think if liability was an issue, all muzzleloaders would have safeties.

I am using Federal 209A primers. No extraction problems whatsoever. In fact the way the primer sits it ejects when you open the rolling block as long as you do it firmly. The block pulls the primer out of the breach face.

I am getting some minor blow by into the rolling block face but none external to that.

I bought he walnut version available through special order only.

So far I am real happy with it.
