TC FX Pro Hunter Muzzle Loader?
Hi all, I am planning for a muzzle loader elk hunt and am considering upgrading to either a TC thumbhole Omega or the new TC FX Pro Hunter ML.

I cannot find any user reviews at all on the TC FX Pro Hunter muzzle loader. Can anyone here give me a review or any user feedback please?

Thanks, mark

It's just an Encore with a fixed barrel to get around the 4473 restrictions. Read any Encore PH reviews as it will perform just the same.

agree.... my buddie has one i helped him set up 4 differnt loads for the rifle most tc's will digest at least that many sabot bullet combos never had a problem with any of them.

im really fond of the 300 grain xtp mag with the black high velosity/pressure mmp sabot.and 150 grains of pyrodex

or the orenge 1 with .458 400-450 grain cast bullets with about 100-120 grains of goex ffg

Nyala, one relevant question is where are you planning to hunt elk? Some states do not allow the use of sabots. QLA'd barrels sometimes have real problems shooting conicals.

That's a good point Underclocked - it will be in Utah most likely........best regards, mark

I read somewhere that TC is notorious for not having the QLA perfectly in alignment with the rest of the barrel. On my TC ProHunter I had a gunsmith shorten the barrel just enough to remove the QLA. That greatly improved my accuracy.

Thanks simangus:

One thing that has become clear as an old roundball and black powder only shooter is I have a lot to learn about the new muzzleloader era and I am enjoying my education.......

Again, thank you all for sharing & Happy Holidays to you & yours.
