T/C Encore .45 cal for deer?
I have a .45 cal Thomspon Contender Encore Muzzleloader. I have tried 195 gr. power belt bullets with 130 gr. of Hodgdon Pyrodex pellets and Winchester 209 primers. At 100 yards I get two inch groups at 100 (should be better?) and at 150 it produces alot of high fliers. Anyone have a suggestion? Or a powder/bullet combo that works good for them?

I have an Encore ! do this first ! take breech plug out put ramrod in a window or in front of a lamp 10 ft away vertically ! now look at the ramrod threw barrel holding barrel away from your eye , look for a black shadow inside your barrel at bottom of bore , if there are more than one black lines on bottom your barrel is not stressed relieved properly and it will never shoot a pattern, use my E-mail for more instructions for dealing with this problem .

65 grains WEIGHED FFg T7 and 275 grain PowerBelt HP works nicely for me.
