Recoil Rob I would try some loose powder over the pellet sticks another idea would be to change the caps ,I find RWS 1075 PLUS CAPS are the best.I would look at the 45 cal. bullets you stated some could be 451 diameter other still 45 cal. are 452 diameter,this may be a good reason they won't go down the barrel with out a fight.
