Need some advice.
I have a 50 cal sidelock that i built from a kit a few years ago. Can anyone recommend a bullet that would provide reasonable accuracy from a 1 in 48 twist barrel?

I use a 295 gr.Powerbelt in mine. Accuracy is not great, but it is all I need for deer within 75 yards.

My friend has a 40 in barrel-1in48 twist and with 3-30gr 50 cal Pyrodex pellets gets great accuracy with the 245gr power belt aero tip with RWS caps. Has it set up with a Bushnell Holosight.

Useually for punching paper, I use patch & ball. Either a .490 177 gr.,or a .495 183 gr.ball. For deer, I favor Buffalo Bullet-Ball-et, 245 gr.& Hollow Point Maxi Ball-et, 270 gr. these all work fine out of my 1-48" twist bbl's. Next thing to do is to see what powder/propellent your rifle shoots the best. Just because say like your freind has a certain rifle & you get one , the same make it doesn't neccisarally mean that the other will shoot the same. A few years back, my father & I both bought the same make & model rifle with the serial #'s are differant by the last number. His rifle with shoot a Hornady Great plains Maxi-Bullet at 410 gr., but I can't hit the target at all at 100 yards with mine. But his can't group the buffalo ball-et's to save his life. Each rifle has it's own personality, & it is your job as a shooter to fine the magic load.

Welcome to the forum! PM me with your address and I'll send you 15-20 or so Lee REAL 50 caliber bullets and you can see if they work for you.

Depending on the range you intend to shoot, I would recommend a patched round ball, they're very accurate and kill deer extremely well when placed in the boiler room. Of course, you're going to have work up a load by spending some time at the range, but that goes with any ML projectile. If you want a bullet, I've had good luck with Buffalo Bullet's saboted offerings in my 1-48 TC.
