compared to the full size 209x50 how much velosity would one expect to loose with the lose of 6" of barrel.

i was thinking some where around 125-200 fps.

Test records from T/C 10 ft per second for each inch taken off using black powder , proberly more with Hodgton tripple seven 3/F

thats not to bad 60-100 fps isnt going to make a difference i was thinking of buying one for my dad........he has a tc hawken but wants a inline and was tossed up between the omega and the kathadin.

i owed 3 different omegas but finnaly settled on the knight disk extream thumb hole stock rifle and the savage smokless muzzeloader.

I gave my son a katahdin in 209X50 for a grad present in june. It impressed me so much that I traded my 26 inch encore 209X50 for a katahdin barrel of my own. It makes a nice short and quick handling carbine.
