Have any of you tried the breach plug conversion for the Encore to use .25 acp case or a shortened .22 Hornet? Did this tighten your groups any? Thanks Again

smokepole paulGo to
www.prbullet.comThese folks have lots of info on these conversions.
I recently purchased the VariFlame primer adapter kit. I haven't tried it yet. Plan to this coming weekend. Less expensive, impressive results.

Redhawk1I have been using the 25 CAP conversion for several years now, I will never go back to using 209 primers. I don't get a crud ring and I have great groups. I have a 50 cal and 45 cal Encore barrel and both have the 25 ACP conversion. I just bought the new Encore Pro-Hunter 50 Cal muzzleloader and I am going to be sending my breech plug to get it modified to accept the 25 ACP. Like I said, I will never go back to the 209 primers. I have 5 other hunting buddies that only shoot the 25 ACP conversions in there Encores also.

MLKeithI have the .25ACP conversion for my Omega and I just ordered and received the same conversion for my NEF Huntsman. I would not consider using any of the 209 primers ever again. The .25 is great and a lot easier to handle when you are in a hurry.

JumperPlainsI have a question. Is the 25ACP conversion kit you are talking about the VariFlame kit advertised in the link posted by Smokepole. Thanks for the info.

No it is not, but it is made by the same guy. The 25 ACP conversion uses 25 ACP brass.
