Govt Censorship

I don't care who your "team" is. This should never happen.

The Department of Homeland Security worked with a Stanford University organization to censor even true information around the 2020 election.

This comes from a report from the House Judiciary Committee. The committee says that the federal government worked with social media companies “to censor true information, jokes, and political opinions.”

“This pressure was largely directed in a way that benefited one side of the political aisle: true information posted by Republicans and conservatives was labeled as ‘misinformation’ while false information posted by Democrats and liberals was largely unreported and untouched by the censors. The pseudoscience of disinformation is now—and has always been—nothing more than a political ruse most frequently targeted at communities and individuals holding views contrary to the prevailing narratives.”

The government called this “switchboarding,” meaning they were trying to switch certain information and people on and off. Needless to say, this was done with taxpayer dollars.

I do not believe Government is inherently evil. I also not believe he our Government is out to destroy me or my property/wealth.

I do believe those things of big banks and completely unregulated business.

I also do not care what Elon Musk has to say about anything.

However, those who seek to discredit this Committee are going to have to do more than proclaim, “ It is all a lie.”

Did you read the report and see what was being "censored"?

Nobody was ever ordered to do anything, suggestions were made to label or take down clearly false or misleading content.

Jim Jordan and the rest of the Republicans on this Committee just didn't like that Trumpers weren't allowed to lie unfettered, like they themselves do.

Personally I think government is in the same boat as big banks.

I do think they are trying to make it exponentially harder to make long term wealth, in the name of “fairness” and “equity”.

I don’t think either government or big business is inherently evil, but both are more interested in their own interests than in mine.

I also agree that what Elon musk wants is of no consequence to me.
