The Danish government has already said "feel free to expand your bases if this is important to your security planning". This means that all security requirements the US may have are already fulfilled.
But no. The democratically elected president, empowered to speak the will of americans, think that they would really like to OWN Greenland. There might be riches there.
Which means that there is plenty of risk of a shooting war between Denmark and the US. Had ANYONE said this just three months ago, I would have laughed my head off.

Bill LeeperMy son just flew down to Orlando, Fla, to visit my daughter and her family who live near Melbourne. They flew from Calgary to Toronto on a packed plane. For the flight to Orlando, they had to wait for an hour while they brought out a smaller plane. The plane was still 75% empty. He said the hotel they have reserved on Marathon sounds excited to see them. This seems to have adversely affected those who depend on tourism by an awful lot. There will be a snowball effect as well. Regards, Bill.
