I have repeatedly said this: It is not fair to the illegal workers. It is not fair to the legal workers trying to compete. It is not fair to the companies that operate by the rules when others hire cheap illegal labor.
It is not fair to the people who have their SS number stolen.
That brings up the next thing. Jeff posted a link about false documents. We cant make you read it obviously. But you claiming it isnt so, is false.
Type in false work documents from illegal workers. You will get a list of agencies and dept to choose from. They all say the same thing. 3/4 of the illegal workers use false papers or SS numbers to get jobs. 75% of how many millions of workers here illegally, are doing it?
The 3 businesses I quoted, had 100% violation rates. It was why they were nailed. They knew the workers had no papers, or stolen ss numbers.
Do you throw all employers in the same boat? Your the lawyer. If workers show up with what appear to be legit papers and are hired, should businesses be fined the same, or do they get a chance to plead their side?
You only want to talk about the minority of illegals hired, car washers etc. According to data, why not a better system of checks for the 75%? They could then concentrate on the car washes and landscapers who need to be fined.
Why do you brush off the folks that have to sort out their stolen SS numbers? Are they not victims?

Any business where others dictate to you what and how much you get for what you produce is a recipe for poor performance or failure. Without the Government handouts most farmers would go broke. Then too if you choose to produce a product like corn that is already oversupplied well you get what you............

Obo's corn subsidies for ethanol was a real winner. Then wheat subsidies because everyone went to corn, and so on.
Maybe wymple can tell me why I am still farming without ever having an illegal working here? I did have to let go a good man with Bidens $5 a gallon gas. Just meant more work, but still survived.
