Start getting ready for higher prices.

I guess the farmers are going to need more subsidies too.

Nobody saw that coming, eh?

I guess that it might have been best to not base such an important part of the economy on illegal immigrant labor. It may also have been better to not subsidize an indolent lifestyle for Americans quite so heavily. When the "American dream" consists mostly of living high on the hog while producing nothing, the results probably won't be wonderful.
In the end, Americans have to choose whether they want to continue to count on illegal immigrant labor to get things done, or if they want to get off their collective ass and do it themselves.
If about 2/3 of the bureaucrats whose purpose in life is to block progress, instead had to actually go to work to achieve progress, it would be a step in the right direction. Regards, Bill

Not wrong Bill.

A born Texan has instilled in his system a mind-set of no retreat or no surrender. I wish everyone the world over had the dominating spirit that motivates Texans.– Billy Clayton, Speaker of the Texas House

No state commands such fierce pride and loyalty. Lesser mortals are pitied for their misfortune in not being born in Texas.— Queen Elizabeth II on her visit to Texas in May, 1991.

farmers got more subsidies in the big bill the democrats cooperated on not too long ago.

Yeah. Either that or maybe we should have planned on it since it was the reality.

But, damn. Now, they are the evil illegal immigrants. They're either picking lettuce and apples or they are selling fentanyl.

Strawberries and lettuce are easy to grow and pick. Try producing your own food if you are worried about the price industrial farms are going to charge.

If you are unwilling to get your own hand dirty then start paying the sponsor/VISA fees to have your favorite vegetable pickers, housekeepers, nannies and roofers made legal for your cheap labor needs.

Ann, we cannot run a nation state economy nor feed a nation state on a bunch of personal gardens.

We are simply spoiled
But we cannot run on exported labor and expect everything done for us forever
One day it’ll be day of reckoning
We will have to be self sufficient one of these days, it’s coming like it or not
I think technology will sooner or later replace just about all the farm labor and then what?

Like I said, if you cannot or will not work then start paying and sponsoring your low cost laborers the right (leagl) way.

Does not change anything I said. Nor does it change the fact they a government’s job is to manage those things to prevent social disorder.

From the Romans, to the Tsar’s Russia, to the Dust Bowl your position is the destruction of society.

Last time I was in the US I was watching some guys cover a roof. It was blisteringly hot (FL) and I thought at the time there is not enough money in the world to pay me to do that.

I have done roofing in younger days, you simply start at dawn and you actually make good money but nowadays lots of illegal labor and cheap and again, but, it don’t reflect in cost of new roof.
That’s why lots of contractors like cheap illegal labor, less money spent, more money in profits and no complaining at all from workers.

Good luck getting congress to do anything. They cant even stop the bi-annual time change. Each side has lucrative reasons to not fix the illegal alien issue. Aholes.

Sabotage the establishment, then point out how it does not work. A blueprint for dismantling our society, while a small group gets unfathomably wealthy.

Assholes indeed.
