Pardon President a Trump of his federal alleged crimes. As much as I despise President Trump’s actions. A president use of Pardon is legitimate and duly vested. To my minds eye the effect of charging President Trump has only breathed life into his campaign, and the value in prosecution has to be weighed against the harmful division amongst the populace. More than President Trump’s campaign, Me. President a large portion of the American people see this a pure political application of the law and mechanisms of government. They fear it, they hate it. Open the valve on the pressure cooker with a pardon. You can make a distinction between President Trump and the rest of Jan 6 by focusing on those affirmative acts at the Capital. As for the records case, make clear that a pardon is granted to signal the death of a cultural problem in the Executive Branch of being lose w protected documents. Ask Congress to change the law that mere negligence is the standard, or a grace period to return after an official leaves office. When this grace period is exhausted criminal liability becomes pre se. You will have made every executive branch official conning toward that this is, to whatever extent it was, no longer tolerated. Pardon your son. No one will really care. Last action done all at once and announced together is to resign. I get why President Biden wants to run again. The GOP is going to nominate the only person he has and can beat. So, why give up. Well, Mr. President you are trying to be president that would see you finish your term just shy of 90. You do not need this, and the nation needs you to be the example to understand that power is the power to choose to let go of power. We can endorse a younger candidate w you campaigning as you will for them in states you are strong (Delaware). To be honest, at this point in time, you may be the only candidate President Trump can beat. This would set up another round of impeachment and 25th Amendment battles assuming we do not take this course of action and President Trump wins but is convicted. The nation does not need that

Pardon Trump for a crime he hasn’t committed. How magnanimous.

It wouldn't matter what you advised him. He probably wouldn't understand anything more complex than "Sit here". If he did, he would forget before implementation could take place. The prosecution of Donald Trump should never have begun in the first place. The reaction of his cult base was and is predictable. I thought a pardon could only be given after conviction, Otherwise, it is simply declining to prosecute. Regards, Bill.

No, you can pardon, for lack of a better word, preemptively. The person can refuse the pardon and proceed w prosecution as well.

Bluefish, tell that to a not immune President Trump who will now stand before a jury. I am sure your words will give great comfort at hearing guilty. President Trump has performed so well at jury trials.

LHeym with all respect, haven't you been the one stating that a pardon would not affect the situation as most of these cases are state charges?

State cases would not be affected by a Federal Pardon. Said that above. A pardon before conviction prevents the person from ever being prosecuted for those crimes. A decline to prosecute allows prosecution if the next AG desires and the SOL has not run. State crimes would require a pardon by those governors. I think GA governor would issue a pardon if a President did. Either way, I am addressing the federal issues. I am not addressing the state issues. Hence, the name of the title. Maybe, the governors do not issue pardons in the wake of a federal pardon. The title of the thread is not, “ How I would advise the Governors of Georgia and New York.” President Trump’s greatest chance of being convicted is the documents case.

What Biden should and will do is keep kicking Republican ass. Getting your ass kicked by a "doddering old man" is a hell of a campaign slogan. "If you’re innocent why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?”- Donald Trump

Here is what I would advise you. Go back to grade school and take classes in Basic Grammar. Start with learning English then go on to beginning sentence structuring and syntax. Be sure to put heavy emphasis on spelling and proof reading. You are second only to the late Ed Hubel in gibberish.

Is any of this any different to the dribbling witless idiot announcing that the US continental army took over the airports?
