The policy is just hot air.

Hitler & Marxism has great policies that assure peace and economic comfort for all. It assured utopian social life.

Reality is different. Both regimes resulted in tyranny and genocide. Loss of freedom for all (not just some).

How can anyone TRUST an insurrectionist & fraudulent convicted felon of implementing policies that will comply with the constitution and the rule of law?

Here's a follow-up on that question.

When I said sorta moot, I meant in the short term. Long term, the question remains as to why we reached this point. We just need time to deal with that.

Anyway, there are participants herein who believe Trump can't be effective regardless of his threats and rhetoric and all the loyalists and project 2025. They think the system will hold him in check.

That's a mistake that's been made before in history.

With his fascist rhetoric ramping up lately, the issue is more in our face.

Trump can be quoted as advocating the suspension of the Constitution, military tribunals for political opponents, that politically opposed Americans are greater enemies to the US than foreign enemies but isn't a fascist. Confused

I think you repeatedly tell me not to listen to Trump's words because his own words labels himself a fascist.

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/fascism

How does Trump not meet this definition?

Trump is a populist. Trump is a nationalist (as am I…I am actually a white Christian nationalist Big Grin)

Other than those two points there is absolutely no resemblance.

I will repeat. If you find yourself exclaiming Trump as a fascist…you should follow up with hollering Scotty…beam me up. space

Well, let's just say that it takes a lot of denial and rationalization to not recognize fascist-like rhetoric and plans coming from Trump and in addition the support from other politicians.

It's my opinion that the denial and rationalizations indicate fascist fodder or activist.

I'm being nice. It's worse to recognize the clues for what they are and actively support Trump(ism).

So, I'm calling you a denier whose cognitive bias simply bars you from reality recognition on this.

And that's the "nice" accusation. All this time and you still get the benefit of doubt.

However, Trump has EARNED or deserves no benefit of doubt. He has EARNED quite the opposite. He has worked hard to remove doubt as to what he is.

My post above is a combo of opinion and facts, with the opinions mostly hinged on facts.

For example, if Trump wasn't using fascist-like rhetoric, and there's project 2025 even though he lied and denied it, and if Trump didn't lie so much, and GOPers in congress too, and so much more in the package/baggage of Trumpism, and Trump wasn't a demagogue, then there would be practically zero basis for concluding he's fascist.

But the reality is that Trump is like a duck.

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, then it's probably a duck.

Call him an eagle if you want. But don't expect agreement. And also expect your judgment to be questionable.

Fascism is a far-right, authoritarian ideology characterized by strong nationalism, dictatorial power, suppression of dissent, and often an emphasis on racial or cultural supremacy. Here are some signs or tendencies that might align with fascist beliefs:

1.Extreme Nationalism: Fascists prioritize a hyper-nationalist ideology, often idolizing their nation and promoting an “us versus them” mentality. They believe their country and culture are superior and often reject internationalism or multiculturalism.

Check

2.Authoritarianism: Fascists believe in strong, centralized authority, usually led by a single powerful leader. They often support the curtailing of democratic institutions and civil liberties, arguing that society functions better under strict control.

"Only I can fix it."

3.Disregard for Democratic Norms: Fascists may have little respect for democratic processes, often undermining electoral integrity, attacking the judiciary, or advocating for power to be concentrated in a single leader or small group.

January 6th, attacking every Judge he comes before except Cannon...

4.Suppression of Dissent: Fascists frequently reject freedom of speech and political pluralism, advocating for the suppression of any opposing viewpoints. Censorship, intimidation, and imprisonment of critics are common in fascist regimes.

Using the military against political opponents seems to fit...

5.Glorification of Military and Violence: Fascism often glorifies military strength, discipline, and action as the foundation of society. Fascists may believe violence or militarism is justified to achieve political goals, preserve “order,” or suppress perceived enemies.

The weakest point, since Trump was too weak to serve, so the Proud Boys and their ilk have to fill in.

6.Scapegoating and Persecution: Fascists frequently blame specific groups (ethnic, religious, political) for society’s problems. This leads to policies targeting these groups, promoting discrimination, exclusion, or even violence as a means of “purifying” or “protecting” the nation.

Gays, immigrants...

7.Anti-Intellectualism and Control of Information: Fascists often view intellectualism, higher education, and independent media as threats to their ideology. They may dismiss or discredit science, literature, and press that question their worldview, labeling them as corrupt or deceitful.

FAKE NEWS!

8.Obsession with Traditional Values: Fascist movements often promote a return to traditional values, particularly around family, gender roles, and religion, while decrying social progress or cultural change as morally degrading.

Bibles in schools, women should be forced to carry every pregnancy to term so a rapist has the right to choose who he breeds with...

9.Economic Control with Corporatist Elements: Fascists typically support a form of state-regulated capitalism where businesses align with government goals. They discourage worker movements and unions that conflict with state priorities.

Elon Musk, Leonard Leo...

10.Charismatic Leadership and Cult of Personality: Fascist regimes often center around a charismatic leader who is seen as embodying the will and power of the people. This leader is often above criticism and revered as a symbol of national strength.

That sure seems to describe the way some Republicans talk about somebody, I can't quite recall who it is...

EVERY SINGLE POINT, Dear Goat Doctor.

You are a proud member of a fascist movement.

I have given you textbook definitions of fascism and the fact that half of Americans agree that Trump is a fascist, so I'll let those reading decide for themselves whether one of us is a nut.

And simply the FACT that other than being a populist (not his choice…just what he is) and a nationalist (as am I)…there is no resemblance of a fascist in Trump.

To see it any other way is just nutty.

Holocaust survivor rips Kamala Harris for boosting Trump-Hitler comparisons, says ex-prez is ‘a mensch’

“I know more about Hitler than Kamala will ever know in a thousand lifetimes,”

“For her to accuse President Trump of being like Hitler is the worst thing I ever heard in my 75 years living in the United States,” he goes on, adding that Harris “owes my parents and everybody else who was murdered by Hitler an apology for repeating this lie.”

You are a proud member of a fascist movement.

rotflmo Now you’re are reduced to ad hominem attacks.

Only nuts run around spewing the term fascist. Face it you are the face of the definition. Big Grin

In one way it's a shame that so few of the "Greatest Generation" are left to explain to you that you now support exactly what they went to Europe and the Pacific to defeat, but in another it's good that they lived out their years without having to see it gain traction here.

I know one well. Visit him weekly. Carried him to vote the other day. Came out and put his “I voted early” sticker on his Make America Great Again red cap.

Lane, you have pissed away any credibility to the point that you saying something happened is nearly prima facia evidence it did not.

There is no greater, some as great, than a defeated president directing his VP under an unconstitutional theory to not certify the EC, PERMIT violence upon our constitutional system, and call for the suspension of the Constitution to stay on power.

Dr. Easter cannot deny Trump did those actions.

He just pretends they didn't happen.
