Mike MitchellThe real reason for the Trump/Zelensky meltdown
trump wants a Nobel Peace Prize.
Straight from Rubio's mouth.
“The sooner people grow up and realize that, I think the more progress we’re going to be able to make,” Mr. Rubio said. He added that Mr. Trump would be considered for the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts if he were a Democrat.
It's the Obama thing. Sticks in trump's craw.

jeffeossowell, obama did get one for his "peace" efforts in the middle east -- right before he used a drone strike on a wedding --
but hey, the sniffer would like a word

Not arguing about Obama's eligibility. Questionable at best.
But, this is what trump is after. Even if it leaves Ukraine out in the cold.
It explains the lunacy on trump's part in relation to how he is approaching it. He wants that Peace Prize.

jeffeossotrump does NOT deserve a peace prize -- it's fricking stupid

JefffiveTrump will never forget that he was impeached for attempting to extort Zelensky to make up dirt on Joe Biden, and since nothing is ever Trump's fault he blames Zelensky for not just rolling over.

Mike MitchellBefore this careens off into a Jeffe/J5 duel.
The United States has been helping to defend Ukraine against Russian aggression.
Now, we're not?
Somebody explain how any other country can trust the United States on anything if we diametrically change positions every four years?

and yet the legal process was followed, and the results are exactly what they are every time a president has been impeached -- the hysterical "peoples" house votes by slim party line majority, and the senate says "no" ..
you are aware that no US president has been impeached and removed from office, right?
NOT
A
SINGLE
ONE
what did the GOP do with their majority? they didn't bother -
but, seriously, articles of impeachment where drawn up by dem-idiots (these specific ones, not demonizing the whole party) BEFORE trump took office in 2017 ...
do you know how STUPID that looks?

wymple"you are aware that no US president has been impeached and removed from office, right?"
And no other president has ever tried to overthrow the gov't either.

jeffeossoand that renown rocket surgeon, from, sadly, my home town, al green, who can't follow a very dang simple formula says
quote:
Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) said: 'The movement to impeach the president has begun.'
'I rise to announce that I will bring Articles of Impeachment against the president for dastardly deeds proposed and dastardly deeds done,' he added in House floor remarks.
good old al --
failed mayor candidate, former justice of the peace, elected as a rep, the second most corrupt politico from houston behind SJL, never did a THING to improve schools or roads in his district - 99.9% of his constituency is "urban", and an utter SCAB on the face of american politics, from a district that has had ONE gop candidate in it's entire history
and he thinks his shoe polish hair dye goes unnoticed --
"dastardly deeds" ...
is that the Nola version of "dirty deeds" ?? as good old al is from Nola
dang, man, the formula is simple "high crimes and misdemeanors " is the charge ....

oh, close enough .. i get it, you TRY to be part of the conversation .. but failure seems to be your normal result --
you STATE he tried to overthrow the government-- and here we are, 4 years later, no conviction nor even a trial ...
would i be SCREAMING a different song, had there been a trial and conviction? oh yeah .. but, honey, harris used the word "fight" 3 times more than trump did in his little speech --- but, of course, you wouldn't recognize an insurrection from an ... no, wait, never mind, that's beneath me

Yes I'm aware, but the fact remains that they were afraid of him then and they still are. Also it's a political process, not a legal one. If you can believe the scuttlebutt back then it was said that if they could have voted secretly, he would have been convicted.

trump's role is to get concessions for Russia and from Ukraine. What could be more clearer.

Harris never got a violent mob to stop the transfer of power, or came close to suggesting it. I know your head is stuck up trump's ass as if Jan 6th never happened. Preach to your choir.

Really you can't just blame the states. Ukraine has been drip fed and limited in what its been allowed to do all the way through, by all its "Allies" They should have been let off the leash from the start, and this would probably be over by now.
Its disappointing what's happened with the US, but criticism can be held wider.

except the word "fight" so offended congress that it was used in article i of 2nd impeachment
here's the exact text
quote:
He also willfully made statements that, in context, encouraged—and foreseeably resulted in—lawless action at the Capitol, such as: “ if you don’t fight like hell you’re not going to have a country anymore ”

yes, people frequently do things different in secret rather than in public, but there's that pesky constitution, calling for public, named roll call votes, which was meant to control lots of nasty little secret things, oh like the star chamber, from happening

And I bet that their votes were pre-determined before the Senate even held a trial. And you think that trump cares about the Constitution? Only if it serves his purpose.

Obama’s Nobel prize came from sheer relief and celebration that Cheney & his Chimp were no longer causing turmoil.
Little did they know what the future held; now they have a weird version of Dubya on psychedelics.
