The term credible threat means a threat that is “ real and immediate, not conjectural or hypothetical.” Kegler v. United States DOJ, 436 F. Supp. 2d 1204, 1212 (D. Wyo. 2006)
Does saying one is digging out a Ghillie suit and getting a gun rise to that level? Sounds like a nutter to me but the government will need to show their cards at some point in the investigation since they smoked someone's grandpa.

Was armed resistance reported in this matter? Sounds like it happened pretty early in the morning when most of us are in our PJs holding coffee cups rather than rifles.

"The FBI attempted to serve arrest and search warrants at Robertson's house at 6:15am, but were met with resistance. Sources told AP that Robertson, who had a large arsenal in his home, was armed when they arrived."
The article says he resisted, it appears he was well armed.
The Feds do not make appointments for these type of visits.
No, I suppose they do not. His behavior, if accurate, certainly invites a response in kind. Too bad when it gets to this point.
Of course, they had also made prior contact and if they had simply waited for him to leave the house in his daily travels rather than handle it the way they did which might have been anticipated to result in his result this outcome may have been avoided.

He pointed a gun at the agents.

That is the allegation as reported. No evidence which means I don’t believe the government because I don’t believe the government anymore about anything. BTW remember when Madonna said she wanted to bomb the White House how come she wasn’t taken down?

They supposedly could have arrested david Koresh any number of times under peaceful circumstances, but they chose not to. Likely the same for Randy Weaver.

I would like to think that regardless of who someone is that the first attempt is a simple request.
Maybe that was tried, who knows with what kind of reporting we get nowdays.
Given the reporting, it may be trigger happy agents with cover up, or it may be a completely righteous shooting on the part of the agents. The government’s record isn’t spotless, but this guy is certainly sounding like a nutcase here.
In the end, all I can say is god will provide justice in the next life if you believe in that… if not, hopefully our system will work it out right.
