Surely you know what happens to those who owe Putin and don’t pay, or even go against him in any way. It usually involves Novichok or high balconies.
The other possibility is simply compromat - those Moscow piss tapes and underage girl tapes might be more real than you think. Blackmail, put simply.
Whatever the reason, Putin has him by the balls, and his actions since being elected are too revealing to leave any doubt.
