I think accusing others of TDS is a psychological projection.

https://www.google.com/search?...sclient=gws-wiz-serp

"Psychological projection is a defense mechanism where individuals attribute their own unacceptable thoughts, feelings, or impulses to others. Essentially, instead of acknowledging these feelings within themselves, they project them onto someone else, often leading to misinterpretations and conflict. This can manifest in everyday situations, but in more extreme cases, it can distort reality and contribute to paranoia."

If pretending to be amused helps you, perhaps that's a good thing.

You are one reason I don't start a sentence with "I don't think".

Heck, if you can make shit out of "I think"...

Smiler

Oh, and BTW, you did what you accused me of but with a partial quote that changed the entire meaning. I didn't change the meaning intended with your post.

Hypocrite.

Can you explain why it's satisfying or amusing to have a controversial or divisive or polarizing Head of State?

I didn't vote for Trump ever, but i have to admit i find his second term less polarizing and reckless than I expected.

This is exactly correct. Note that none of these folks advance any arguments in support of the stupid shit that trump does. Other than these weird projections criticizing the folks that criticize their orange jesus.

In that case I can't imagine how polarizing and divisive and reckless you expected. It must have been astronomical. OTOH, my expectations were/are merely stratospheric. Smiler

Did you know that the root of all disappointment is expectation? May I presume that you are not disappointed that he didn't meet your expectations? Wink I hesitate to presume that you find his polarizing and divisiveness acceptable.

In my case I'm disappointed because he met my expectations and more. I would have been surprised otherwise.

We have a long way to go before he and Trumpism are gone, if ever. The fact that he got in the WH twice says any demagogue can float to the top of the bowl by spewing and fomenting. Too many people approve of it. Some even find it amusing.

Again, it's irrational, all visceral, emotional - nothing rationally intellectual about it, except the explanation for it.

He has plenty of time and intent to meet your expectations.

I disagree with your assessment of Trump's second term Scott. Selling off public lands, businesses destroyed by tariffs, embracing Putin and turning on our allies, running up the deficit and our cost to service our debt, threatening Panama and Greenland, inserting the US into the Israeli/Iran conflict ....the list goes on.

As usual, I wouldn't insist I'm right.

I know the anti trump protests last week or so were pretty large.

The DOGE thing seemed to have had some support as does Trump's immigration efforts. Even Mike Mitchell of all people mentioned he liked Trump bombing Iran.

Personally, off the top of my head I'd say my biggest beef with Trump is his efforts to increase the authority of the Executive.

I'd guess that the odds are good a Republican will not be elected President based on the popularity of Trump's current term. As I said above, I'm under the impression Trump is currently less polarizing, I didn't say not polarizing.

He's like dog shit; he's EVERYWHERE. Unless you turn into a recluse and shut yourself off from society and the news you can't go anywhere without seeing that orange smush or reading his bullshit or hearig his voice. So just one of those kinds of encounters is enough to trigger the I can't stand that turd reaction.
