ledvmI certainly hope he pardons Chauvin.
I get a pit in my stomach every time I think of that fellow in prison for simply doing his job.

A born Texan has instilled in his system a mind-set of no retreat or no surrender. I wish everyone the world over had the dominating spirit that motivates Texans.– Billy Clayton, Speaker of the Texas House
No state commands such fierce pride and loyalty. Lesser mortals are pitied for their misfortune in not being born in Texas.— Queen Elizabeth II on her visit to Texas in May, 1991.

He can’t pardon him. He being the President. It is a state conviction. Musk does not know how our system works. We can infer Dr. Easter with his response does not either. Although the evidence has been explained to him by numerous appellate courts. No, the homicidal ex cop does not deserve a pardon. I hope he died painfully in prison.
Whether he gets a paragon is up to the Governor of Minnesota on any given day. So be it.
Oh, and Dr. Easter has been shown on this website way his interpret the medical proof is junk science, the jury correctly did not adopt.
We are using the same doctor at trial. His medical positions are solid. Like the conviction they was upheld across the board.

ledvmYou are right about the pardon…wrong on everything else.
Makes me sick to my stomach that policeman is in jail for doing his job.

LHeym500Simply not the status of the law, the medical proof supported by the medical field, nor the facts of the case.
To answer the OP which you did not do, Musk nor the President have anything to do with this man getting a pardon.
Only the vested Governor of Minnesota can pardon him.
He is wear he belongs and brought low by his own actions.

I said you were right on that.
Just wrong on everything else.

LHeym500You have never read the appellate rulings in this matter. You have not read the trial court’s Dulbert findings. The rulings and explanations for those rulings have been given to you.
You have no bases for your position in law nor fact. You have res noting and understand less. Your option is based on nothing but your own prejudices.

American police officers must have unusual job descriptions - apparently they’re required to (a) stop criminal action, (b) handcuff and immobilize perpetrators, then (c) kneel on their neck for nine minutes until they die.
Most civilized jurisdictions stop after (b), with the exception of transporting the accused to custody.
It’s odd how in the U.S. white knees and black necks still seem to have an affinity for each other.

And the truth.
Floyd was a thug. Fact.
Floyd resisted arrest. Fact.
Floyd was safely put into the car once. He chose to come out. Fact.
After he came out of the car...Chauvin restrained him. Fact. I really don't care how. It was Floyd's problem at that point. Opinion.
Floyd had methamphetamine and fentanyl in his system at the time of restraint making him more resistant. Fact.
But you are correct about another thing...I do have disdain for a system that could put a police officer in jail for merely doing his job in jail. Fact.
I hope the ones in your jurisdiction take note.

He was safely restrained and safely put into a police transport once. Floyd chose to come out. After that...it's all on Floyd.

SaeedThat is not the point.
Floyd was asking for it.
A career criminal, just like Trump.
I find it very hard to have sympathy for those who abuse, assault the police or resist arrest.
I'm also glad I don’t live in a society where someone getting out of a cop car he’s just been put into is killed, either because someone knelt on his neck or just shot him out of hand. The end result of the latter is no different.
If you are a cop you are no doubt trained and cannot just give vent to your frustrations, however tempting. That way you are descending to the same level as those you arrest.
