LHeym500The deaf fighting the blind.
My observation is the Dems in Congress had no strategic plan to address the funding of the government.
There is no filibuster in the House. Dems do not control the House.
The optics of Dems in the Senate to force a shutdown are damning. The Dems beat the GOP over the head about shutdowns. They are in the minority. The use of a filibuster to contravene the majority when for years Dems declared shutdowns as obstruction.
Shutting the government down would give Trump what he wants. That being a non-functioning Congress to give the Administration a free hand.
Every headline will read, correctly, Dems shutdown the government. This will take the heat off the Administration’s poor governance.
Now, I agree with the other Jeff in needing a real budget. That discussion has been had by those on here who want to have it.
That is not going to happen. Shutting down the government hands Trump a political win while engaging in intellectual dishonesty.
Fund the government, make the case to the people why the majority plan was the best deal to get to prevent shutdown and the your funding with a majority will be better.

LHeym500Sen Schumer clears the way for GOP funding measure to pass. This ends the threat of government shutdown.
We are going to roller in a GOP economy for good or ill.
