There are many basic reasons the "other" protests, including the Floyd protest, were different in significance. The prime reason is that there was only one stimulated by a POTUS while still in office, for the specific purpose of staying in office. The riots of 1/6 were part of a bigger plan, one step failing, try another. The purpose was to delay the certification at least ten days so republicans in congress could take over, claiming they were just following their constitutional mandate, and fabricate the doubt to sustain their vote to certify fake electors on behalf of Trump. There is no doubt they would have done it. Pence didn't let them.
