Donald Trump is just Neville Chamberlain with bad hair. https://encyclopedia.ushmm.org.../neville-chamberlain .....and once Putin saw that Trump would give him what he wants, some other country would be next.

It's a shame Trump doesn't read. He could learn a lot about tyrants by knowing a little about history. I think Putin has Trump stump-broke, just like Trump has all his MAGA followers stump-broke.

Chamberlain was a much better man than Trump.

Yes, he was an appeaser and tried to avoid war at all costs, which was in retrospect, totally the wrong decision. It was, however, the results of coming of age in WWI. Both France and Britain were convinced (until 1939-40) that WWII would be fought identically to WWI. Static defenses with a pure war of attrition.

So you two want to forget that Putin invaded when Obama was in office, and we did little. Then Biden gets in office, hires all kinds of the people who were in when he was VP with Obama and you all are surprised that Putin figures he can do exactly what he did with Obama (who was a much brighter man and better president than Joe) and that we would react identically.

Given Biden, I would have thought similarly... but Poland is a much bigger power in NATO now than it was... Thank Trump for that, I guess. Europe convinced Biden that he had to do more than Obama... and thus the war.

Would Trump have appeased Putin? Maybe, but he certainly didn't seem to do that while he was in office. The perception of the Democrats being Chamberlainesque avoiders of war at all costs is quite strong, both here and internationally. Think about it... Russia/the USSR started all of its foreign wars of note when a Democrat was in office. (Korea by proxy, Vietnam by proxy (it started while Truman was in office against France), Cuban missile crisis, Afganistan, and now Ukraine x2.)
