Pissing off the extreme left would be an unimportant detail. Pissing off the Silent Majority is another matter entirely, and Trump is on track to do just that. Eighty-nine million eligible voters did not think a choice between Trump and Harris was worth their time. Screwing with Social Security and/or Medicare might change their minds about that. Older folks mostly vote and are mostly Republican but maybe not dogmatic about it. Trump's seventy-seven million votes didn't all come from young'uns, and some of them might not stay loyal if there beans don't come on time.
